Many organisations are choosing to use Sage for their accounts, payroll, job costing etc. However they need help to set the system up properly, so that they get the best out of it for their particular business needs. The assignment typically takes between 3 and 12 days, spread over a 3 to 6 month period and involves:
  • Overall review of your requirements to help you to choose what to computerise, when, and using which system.
  • Design the coding systems, so that you can get the information that you need.
  • Plan and implement the new system gradually, so that staff can assimilate new working practices and gain confidence in the new system.
  • Set up management reports and provide management with timely and accurate information.

The work is done by a fully qualified and experienced management accountant who understands your on-going business and information needs, as well as the computer side. Our approach gives you on-site training for your staff, and hand holding for as long as you need.

Clients include:

  • Construction companies (typical turnover £2 million) who had manual accounts systems and needed to computerise the accounts and payroll and implement job costing. The managers gained an understanding of the profitability of different jobs, had accounts which were up to date, and improved general cashflow.
  • Wholesale and mail-order company (turnover £10 million). This included stock control, invoicing, order processing, and MRP. The client's management information system had been unreliable, leading to overstocking of some products, and inability to fulfil orders of other products. The project would not have been completed without a focused facilitator.
  • Hotels (typical turnover £1 million plus). This was typically Sage accounts and payroll, and included links to the front office system, dealing with deposits etc.
  • Stockists and small manufacturers (turnover £300,000 to £10 million). This included accounting, stock control, invoicing, and sales order processing.

The Sage implementation is carried out by Elaine Harrison MA, FCMA who has 20 years experience as a management consultant and trainer specialising in accountancy systems. Previous experience includes management accountancy and Financial Controller positions in construction, manufacturing, and wholesaling businesses.
